Our Fair Trade Organic Breakfast Blend is a classic, American-style breakfast cup — brisk, clean, mildly sweet and bursting with flavor. Its brightness is tempered with warming notes of milk-chocolate and spice, and its body is round and smooth. The result: a winning balance, and a brilliant way to start your day.

Flavor Chart

"Brighter, and offers more floral notes than our Signature Breakfast Blend — a natural attribute of organic coffee. Invigorating and balanced."
Lindsey Bolger

"Another coffee that I include on my gift list. Vibrant, fruity and chocolaty."
Patty Vincent

Rating: 90 Points (out of 100)

Superbly balanced, bright but sweet cup. Grapefruit-toned citrus, flowers, nut in the aroma. In the cup perfectly balanced acidity and sweetness, lightly syrupy mouthfeel with nut and orange notes and a continued hint of flowers. A slight astringent tightness mars an otherwise rich finish.

This is a wonderfully balanced coffee, and takes kindly to most any method of brewing.

We often source coffees for our Fair Trade Organic Breakfast Blend from the Unión Regional de Pequeños Productores de Café, in Huatusco, Mexico. The cooperative was formed in 1992 by a group of small-scale family farmers who decided to take responsibility for lifting their community out of the extreme poverty they faced. Their success has been remarkable, and today the co–op boasts more than 1,908 small farmers among its members, including 600 women.

The increased revenue that Fair Trade and organic coffee provides the farmers in this co–op has enabled them to establish education facilities in rural areas, and build regional healthcare centers for several villages.

Ecologically-minded, they've also used Fair Trade revenues to fund a reforestation program, while training their members in shade-tree cultivation and terracing, and to improve and expand their organic program, which now includes nearly 500 of its member farmers.
